Case study
Auto-cooling fan
A Dallas sensor sets PWM fan speed from off through full from air temperature; temperature ranges and fan speed limits are tunable on the dashboard. Installed on a solar inverter enclosure.
Why
The inverter needed airflow that tracked heat, not a fan that runs constantly, and we wanted to change limits without reflashing.
How
The ESP32 reads air temperature and maps it to PWM: off below the low threshold, full above the high threshold, smooth ramp in between.
Thresholds and fan limits are stored on the board and updated from the dashboard.
